Finnish smartphone and operating system company Jolla started their first sales yesterday together with challenger-minded carrier DNA at the Narinkkatori square in Kamppi area in the heart of Helsinki. We also went to pick up our pre-ordered sample and thus we were of course able to check what’s inside the Jolla sales package.
Please have a look at the following pictures:
The Jolla phone is delivered in a stylish box having the Jolla logotype in silver on top. The small text on the box is program code.
Push and drag the content out and the phone is revealed from it’s plastic poach.
The first Jolla phones including the 450 ones sold yesterday are delivered white colored The Other Half special back cover. Nice looking cover; you can see the camera lens, flashlight and Jolla logotype. In the future there should be nine different colour options and you can also purchase Other Half in different colours separately.
Front of the Jolla phone is pitch black and does not reveal you much. No buttons whatsoever on the front, but below the display you can see a LED light and at the top you find the loudspeaker, a front camera and as usual a sensors for light and proximity.
In the package you will also find a battery, Micro-USB-to-USB cable, charger, user guide, a warranty card, some Jolla stickers and a “Thank you” note, probably written by the Jolla CEO Tomi Pienimäki.
Nothing special with the cable. Jolla has a Lithium-Ion battery with 2 100 mAh capacity / 7.98 Wh / 3.8 V and max charging voltage 4.35 V. Battery is produced in China, as is the case also with the Jolla phone itself and the charger.
Only those who during the first pre-order sales campaign from May to July pre-ordered and deposited 100 € will receive a Poppy Red Other Half imprinted with the text “The First One”
Also at least yesterday all of the people buying their Jolla phones also got a paper brochure explaining the Jolla story and presenting the phones as well as general thoughts behind the Sailfish operating system and user interface.
